HISTORY

Message From Bernadette BJ Lark, CommUNITY ARTS-reach’s Founder:

I believe we all have a role in healing and making sure our communities are safe, livable, and accessible. We must keep our eyes on the prize, and commit to caring about “ Who’s missing & Why?” We must commit to connecting in good works to uplift. Arts is a universal language that offers goodness to all it reaches (the entrée not the dessert).

Since 2005 BJ Lark has worked alongside many local educators to serve families in the Roanoke Valley.
We have a destination
A place far away from racism and hate
Despite what this nation taught me
We are different but equal
-Bernadette BJ Lark

Honor our ancestors
Earn the respect of future generations and
To be Willing to be transformed in the process of services and works
That willingness, is the prize
-Mary Hooks
